The message and devotion to Jesus known as the Divine Mercy is introduced to us by a simple Polish nun, Sister Faustina, now St. Faustina. Sister Faustina maintained a diary of over 600 pages recording the interactions she had directly with Jesus over a period of 2+ years in the 1930s.
In those meetings with Our Lord, she was charged with learning and recording the most important lesson God wants us to learn…above all others. That is, he loves beyond any measure of human comprehension, and he wants us to share in that mercy while we are working our way back to heaven. He will forgive the unforgivable, love the unlovable, and will never say no to anyone who asks for mercy. Along with the lesson of mercy Jesus made over a dozen specific promises that will assure those who practice this devotion a peaceful death.
How comforting is it to know that Jesus has promised “…I will come three times with my Mercy, before I come with my justice.”
