INTRODUCTION
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this important ministry. The responsibility of proclaiming God’s Word for the Christian assembly during the celebration of Mass is a humbling and deeply rewarding experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Participants in this ministry meet the following qualifications:- Fully initiated (sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) and practicing Catholic
- Possess the human maturity expected of those called to serve in this ministry
- Regularly attends Mass
- Fully embraces the words and prayers that are offered in the Mass
- Gives positive witness to the Christian life
- Possesses full knowledge of the Order of Mass
- Has the capability to proclaim Sacred Scripture at Mass
- Is willing to prepare for the readings through prayer, study, and practice
- Has participated in a training program
