Around 1974, a group of women at St. Bartholomew’s Church formed a committee to organize a fair. The purpose was to make enough money to outfit the kitchen of the original Church. In addition, we wished to foster and maintain our interdependence upon each other and our Church, and to offer our ministry to fellow parishioners. After twenty-five years, the annual fair had gone by the wayside. In 2009, the Christmas fair was resurrected as the Christmas Prelude, which included a craft fair. The Women's Group usually mans the bake sale at this annual fair. Many members of the Women’s Group assisted with funeral receptions or helped other ministries in any reasonable capacity. Occasionally, the church kitchen gets a scrubbing and re-organizing.
The Women’s Group meets every Tuesday to support each other spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. New members are enthusiastically welcomed. The normal meeting begins at 11 AM. There is knitting, crafting, talking, and lunch at noon. Occasionally we host a potluck lunch at the Church Hall. We consider ourselves a reservoir of experience, patience, and wisdom available to all parishioners.
